This Week in Mining: March 9th

Some mining news this week amidst the turmoil in the markets.
  1. On the March 6th Ethereum core dev call, a decision was made to suspend the initial decision to move forward with implementing ProgPow. While the meeting’s participants were divided on the issue of ProgPow, there was no decision to completely kill it. A suggestion was made during the call to fix vulnerabilities and submit it under a new EIP, but the issue remains unresolved.
  2. Canaan, maker of the popular Avalon Miners, has been hit with a securities lawsuit in US court. In the suit, a shareholder of the company alleges that Canaan misled investors during its IPO.
